Welcome to the Van Life

In October of 2019 I decided to take on a new challenge; buying and building a van. I sold my truck of eight years and picked up a bare bones 2005 Chevy Express Van. Meet the Man Van.
Growing up in the deserts of Southern California has given me a fond love for traveling and camping. That was really the inspiration behind this endeavor. Seeing new sights, experiencing new places, and enjoying life's simple pleasures were on the list of priorities with the van. While my end goal would ideally be a built-out Sprinter Van, this will do in the meantime.
The inside of the van looked better suited for a construction site rather than a camp site. Despite its minimal interior, all I could see was potential. This would allow me to build the van my way and force me to learn new skills along the way. After scouring the internet for ideas, I decided on a layout that would let me sleep comfortably with all the toys secured inside. it Fast forward to a few barren dont-want-to-wait maiden voyages and it was time to dive into the first steps of the build; insulation, walls, a back seat, and a bed to name a few.
If you've made it this far thanks for sticking around. I've been wanting a place to channel my van-ergy and give a more in-depth look into the progress along the way. Be sure to check out my van-stagram (@RyansAdvantures) and stay tuned for more updates!
